Chunyee has more than 30 years of experience in violin making, restorations, and authentications. He serves as a luthier, appraiser, and dealer for musicians and collectors in Chicago and other states. He has been featured in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra magazine "CSO Sounds & Stories" twice.
Chunyee began the study of violin at six years of age with his father, a violinist at the Shanghai Philharmonic. Later, he studied under Professor Li Ke Chiang as his private student.

During the past three decades, Chunyee has served some of the most influential musicians (see "Clients Glamour") and prestigious institutions, such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Northwestern University. Chunyee has done very important restoration works on rare instruments, including Stradivarius, Guarneri, Amati, Gasparo da Salò, Goffriller, Ruggieri, Guadagnini, Grancino, Pressenda, Gagliano, Ceruti, Rocca, etc.
Chunyee graduated from the Chicago School of Violin Making in May 1993.
